NINTENDO
Probably the best conference of E3 at least in my opinion was the Nintendo conference. They hit all the right notes and came out strong. They came out with the perfect mixture of core games and casual games. Right off the bat not wasting any time they premiered Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Probably the only real thing that Nintendo fans where wanting from Nintendo was given to them.
Saying that it ended there is a mistake. They announced the rumored Goldeneyeremake and the only bad thing is that it will feature Daniel Graig and not Pierce Brosnan in the game. We also got a look Epic Mickey. But this conference wasn't just all about Zelda and third party games. Some other Nintendo legacies decided to drop by to join the party.
Retro studios the makers of the Metroid Prime Trilogy had their own game to show off. And when they came out well like the saying says "It's on like Donkey Kong" well Donkey Kong Countryto be exact. Thats right Retro is making a new Donkey Kong Country titled "Donkey Kong Country Returns" and like any good Donkey Kong Country game it is a 2D sidescroller.
And everyone favorite pink bottomless stomach is getting a treatment something similar to Paper Mario. Instead of paper Kirby returns to spin a tale in Kirby's Epic Yarn. Made of yarn our hero takes to the world of sidescrolling adventure.
Now we can't ignore the 3DS. Yes thats the official name they have given it. Here Nintendo gave every one of their hardcore fans to be excited for their newest handheld. I will name three games that would make most if not all of their fans very happy. 1. Kid Icarus Uprising and will be a launch title for the 3DS. 2. PilotWings Resort. and 3. Star Fox 64 for the 3DS. But the 3DS isn't without third party support. Here is a complete list of games to be released for the 3DS including a new Nintendogs+Cats. The third parties are breaking out some of their premire franchises for the 3DS like Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Bomberman, and Kingdom Hearts.
All in all I was very impressed with Nintendo.
SONY
Sony themselves had alot of great stuff to show. With Move on it's way September 19th for $49.99 for the controllers and $99.99 for a bundle of the camera and controller. Here is a full list of Moved enabled games. They also announced a Premium PSN service called PSN+. For $49.99 you will get exclusive in-game DLC and content, free full games, early demos and betas, and an auto patch feature that detects, download and intalls updates.
Also anounced was that the PS3 will be getting cross game chat but that comes with some strings. Valve also announced that Portal 2 will be avaible on the PS3 day and date with the 360 and have Steam Cloud support. Probably the biggest suprise was the announment of Twisted Metal for the PS3.
They didn't really show much for the PSP other than a montage trailer and the announment of a new God of War for the PSP. But they still had a strong showing with Infamous 2, Killzone 3, and the showing off of a collection of Sly Cooper for the PS3.
